As a registered pharmacist with an MBA in pharmaceutical management, and over 20 years of diverse experience both in Asia and the USA, Jay brings expertise from both sides of the world. He specializes in business development, corporate strategy, sourcing and international business.
Jay acquired more than 4 years of Indian pharmaceutical industry experience where he worked at different levels of supply chains: starting as a sales representative, and going up to product manager, and everything in between.
Jay has worked in the US pharmaceutical industry for more than 16 years, again starting as pharmacist behind the counter, and then moving on to sourcing manager, and policy advisor to the largest state run Medicaid program in the US.
Jay holds a B.S. in pharmacy from K.L.E.’s College of Pharmacy, Banglore, India, and an MBA in Pharmaceutical Studies from Silberman College of Business, Madison, New Jersey.
Executive Vice President, Sales & Business Development
Ray has 36 total years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including 14 years in the branded prescription and OTC industry in both sales and sales management with Adria Labs, and 22 years in the generic prescription drug industry in both sales and major national account business management for ETHEX Corporation and Nesher Pharmaceuticals.
Ray's account management responsibilities over the 20 plus years while at ETHEX included McKesson, Cardinal, Walmart, Walgreens and Albertsons, among many others. Ray was District Sales Manager, Regional Training Associate and Sales Advisory Board member for Adria Labs, and Regional and National Account Manager for ETHEX and Nesher, with a responsibility for business management of over $350M annually and over 150 generic products.
Ray's expertise is in new product market development and introductory launches in major U.S. drug wholesale and chain accounts, and corporate business relationships within these accounts.
Dr. Dasaradhi Lakkaraju, PhD
Chief Science Officer
Dr. Das brings a tremendous amount of knowledge that was built over 24 years of analytical chemistry experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He is well versed in all compendia BP, EP, USP, ICH and FDA guidelines, and is fully conversant with cGMP, cGLP and 21 CFR Part 11. Dr. Das has experience in solid orals both extended release and immediate release tablets and capsule formulations including controlled substances, as well as parenteral: lyophilized products and liquids, oil based depot formulations, suspensions, peptides, steroids and oncology products, ophthalmic: liquids and suspensions. He has lead intellectual property development projects using reverse engineering techniques and circumventing patents for Paragraph-IV filings. He has audited API vendors, DMFs and CMOs and qualified them. He has performed method transfers and managed several ANDA projects with overseas CMOs, and has contributed significantly to several ANDAS, NDAs and 505(b)(2)s with reference to analytical deliverables and impurity profiling.
Anand Shukla, MS, MBA
Vice President, Research & Development
Anand brings more than 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. including formulation development, business development, project management, capital planning and investor relations.
Prior to joining Nivagen, Anand held various technical roles in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies such as Andrx, Watson, Fibrogen and Sandoz. In addition to developing ANDAs, NDAs and 505(b)(2)s, Anand has extensive experience in project management, business development, strategic planning and fund raising. Mr. Shukla made significant contributions to development of many complex branded and generic products such as modified-release solid oral dosage form, lyophilized injectables and topical products.
Anand holds a Masters degree in Industrial Pharmacy from Long Island University, Brooklyn, NY and an MBA from John Sperling School of Business.
Vice President, Sales Development
Tom Henry brings over 24 years of pharmaceutical sales expertise to the Nivagen team. Upon graduation from Emory University, he launched his career at Goldline Laboratories. After 7 years selling generic products for a full line re-packager, he saw the shift to manufacturers distributing under their own label. For the next 17 years he covered the Western US for ETHEX Corporation. He then consulted for both branded and generic companies before joining Nivagen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 2014. Tom is knowledgeable in all aspects of the business, from behind-the-scenes new product set up and sales tracking, to customer-facing product launches and contract negotiations.
It’s no surprise that Tom Henry ended up in pharmaceutical sales – with a McKesson sales rep father, he practically grew up in the drug industry!
